Terms

These are the terms for using PDF Commons at www.pdfcommons.com. By using the site, you agree to them.

Last updated: 6 October 2026.

Free tools

The tools that run in your browser are free, with no account and no daily limit. Your file stays on your device. We never see it, so we cannot get it back for you.

Tools that upload your file

PDF to Word, OCR PDF and heavy compress upload your file to our server to do the job. We delete your file and the result within 30 minutes. Each file can have up to 20 pages. Your first PDF to Word file is free, one per network. The other server jobs need a pass.

Your files

Your files stay yours. We claim no rights to them, and we use an uploaded file only to do the job you asked for. Only use files you have the right to use. Keep your own copy: we cannot get a file back after it is deleted.

Passes and payment

A day pass costs $6. It is charged once, gives you 24 hours of server tools, and does not renew. A year plan costs $60 for 365 days and renews once a year until you cancel. We email you 7 days before each renewal. You can cancel on your account page or with the link in your receipt, and you keep access until the end date. Prices include any sales tax. Payments are processed and sold through Stripe, our payment company, and Stripe's checkout terms also apply.

Refunds

If you are not happy, email help@pdfcommons.com within 14 days of a charge, and we will refund it in full. A refund ends the pass it paid for. This does not limit any rights you have under the law where you live.

Accounts

An account is optional. You need one only to use a pass on more than one device, or to star tools. You sign in with a link or code sent to your email, or with Google. Keep your email safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in. To delete your account, email help@pdfcommons.com.

Fair use

Do not use the site to break the law, to handle files you have no right to, or to harm others. Do not try to overload the site or get around its limits, such as the one free file per network. We may block use that does.

No guarantee

We work hard to make the tools correct, but we provide them as they are. A converted file or a scan's text can contain mistakes, so check the result before you rely on it. The site may sometimes be unavailable.

Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost data, lost profits or lost time. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law does not let us limit.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA. If you live somewhere else, you keep the consumer rights your local law gives you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. If a change affects a year plan you already pay for, we will email you before it applies.
