What this copy changes
Copy PDF info takes two PDFs. The first file keeps every page. The second file supplies the info dictionary and nothing else. The download is one file named with-info.pdf. The worker loads both files with pdf-lib and does not append the second file. A key is copied only when the second file already has that key. The keys are Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, CreationDate, and ModDate. A first file titled Old Title, with author Keep Author and subject Stay Subject, meets a second file titled New Title, with author New Author, keyword Notes, creator Desk, and producer Press. The saved file then carries New Title, New Author, Notes, Desk, and Press. Stay Subject remains because the second file had no subject. Dates 2020-01-02 and 2020-03-04 move when the second file has them. The catalog XMP stream on the first file stays, and a marker only on the second file is not copied. Page text KEEP stays. Page text DROP from the second file does not appear. Two pages stay two pages when the second file has three. A page of 200 by 100 points stays that size. A page rotated 90 degrees keeps that rotation. A link at https://example.com/keep-link stays. This is not Set PDF title, which writes titled.pdf from one typed title. This is not Remove PDF info, which deletes these keys into no-info.pdf. This is not Interleave PDF, which copies pages into interleaved.pdf. Nothing is rasterized.
The copy runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The files are not uploaded. There is no GridFS copy. Closing the tab drops the copy. The browser downloads with-info.pdf. Set PDF title writes titled.pdf. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
There is no page cap on this copy. The tab has to hold both files. This copy does not need a pass. A day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. A year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to copy info here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.
An empty first file stops with "This PDF could not be read." Bytes that are not a PDF stop with "This PDF could not be read." A missing second file stops with "Add the second PDF." A first file with no pages stops with "This PDF has no pages." A locked file, opened without its password, stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined". Unlock PDF is the separate page. This page does not ask for a password and does not guess one.
Steps
- Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
- Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
- Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.
