Where the white cover sits

Cover bottom PDF takes one PDF and a whole number of points. The field reads Points and starts at 72. The download is named covered.pdf. The library pdf-lib paints one opaque white rectangle on every page. The rectangle covers the bottom of the media box at the full media width, and its height is the field value. Content is covered, not deleted, and nothing is rasterized. A 200 by 100 point page with 72 keeps that media box. The rectangle starts at x 0 and y 0. It measures 200 by 72 points. LOW at y 20 sits under the white and TOP at y 80 stays above it. Both words remain in the content stream. A link on the first page stays. The title Keep Title stays and the author Keep Author stays. A 400 by 200 point page rotated 90 degrees keeps that rotation. Its rectangle is 400 by 72 points from y 0, so THREE at y 140 stays above the cover. The crop box is not moved. A page of 100 points accepts 99 and refuses 100, so one point stays uncovered. Zero, a fraction, and a negative number are refused before any paint. This is not Crop PDF, which shrinks the crop box without white paint. This is not Split horizontal PDF, which writes split-horizontal.pdf. The original file on disk is not rewritten.

The cover runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The file is not uploaded. There is no GridFS copy. Closing the tab drops the copy. The browser downloads covered.pdf. Crop PDF changes the crop box. Split horizontal PDF writes split-horizontal.pdf. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.

There is no page cap on this cover. The tab has to hold the file. This page does not need a pass. A day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. A year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to cover the bottom here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.

An empty file stops with "This PDF could not be read." Bytes that are not a PDF stop with "This PDF could not be read." A file with no pages stops with "This PDF has no pages." A count that is not a whole number greater than 0 stops with "Enter a whole number of points." Zero, a fraction, and a negative number all use that same sentence. A height that would cover the whole page, or leave less than one point, stops with "Leave at least one point of the page." A locked file, opened without its password, stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined". Unlock PDF is the separate page. This page does not ask for a password and does not guess one.

Questions

How tall is the white cover?

The field is Points and it starts at 72. That many points of height cover the bottom of the media box across its full width. A page of 200 by 100 points with 72 gets a rectangle of 200 by 72 points. The download is covered.pdf.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. The cover runs in this tab. The file is not uploaded. Closing the tab drops the copy. You get one file named covered.pdf. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.

Is the text deleted?

No. The text is covered, not deleted. LOW at y 20 stays under the white. TOP at y 80 stays above it. The media box stays 200 by 100 points. A rotation of 90 degrees stays. The title Keep Title stays. The link stays.

Does this page need the $6 day pass?

No. A $6 day pass lasts 24 hours, is charged once, and does not renew. A $60 year lasts 365 days. Neither charge is required to cover the bottom here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool.
