What this mix builds
Interleave PDF takes two PDFs. The first file leads each pair. The second file supplies the following page. The download is one file named interleaved.pdf. The result is one PDF, not a zip and not a picture. The worker loads both files with pdf-lib and copies each page into a new document. Pages that say ONE and then THREE, mixed with pages that say TWO and then FOUR, become ONE, TWO, THREE, and FOUR. The document title stays Keep Title, taken from the first file. A title on the second file does not replace it. A page rotated 90 degrees keeps that rotation. Sizes of 200 by 100, 300 by 150, 400 by 200, and 500 by 250 stay those sizes. A link whose URI is https://example.com/keep-link stays on the page that carried it. Reverse turns only the second file around, so FOUR is copied before TWO, and the first file still starts with ONE. The page count is the sum of both files. Extra pages from the longer file follow the pairs. This is not Merge PDF, which places the whole second file after the whole first file. This is not Odd and even PDF pages, which keeps one side of a single file. This is not Reverse PDF, which flips one file only.
The mix runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The files are not uploaded. There is no GridFS copy. Open the network panel, drop both PDFs, and those files should not appear as an upload. Closing the tab drops the copy. The browser downloads interleaved.pdf. Stacking one file after another is the Merge PDF page. Keeping one side of a single file is the Odd and even PDF pages page. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
There is no page cap on this mix. The tab has to hold both files. This mix does not need a pass. A day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. A year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to interleave two PDFs here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.
An empty first file stops with "This PDF could not be read." A missing second file stops with "Add the second PDF." A file with no pages stops with "This PDF has no pages." A choice that is neither order stops with "Name plain or reverse." A locked file, opened without its password, stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined". Unlock PDF is the separate page. This page does not ask for a password and does not guess one.
Steps
- Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
- Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
- Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.
Questions
Which file goes first?
The first box is page 1, then page 3, and so on. The second PDF fills page 2, then page 4, and so on. Reverse it first flips only the second PDF. A shorter second PDF leaves extra first-file pages at the end. Merge PDF stacks one file after the other.
Are the PDFs uploaded?
No. The mix runs in this tab. The files are not uploaded. Open the network panel, drop both files, and those files should not appear as an upload. Closing the tab drops the copy. You get interleaved.pdf, and the Word page uploads.
Do the words and the link stay?
Yes. ONE stays on the page from the first file. TWO stays on the page from the second file. THREE and FOUR stay on their own pages. The document title stays Keep Title. A page rotated 90 degrees keeps that rotation. The link https://example.com/keep-link stays. The tool does not turn the page into a picture.
Does this mix need the $6 day pass?
No. A $6 day pass lasts 24 hours, is charged once, and does not renew. A $60 year lasts 365 days. Neither charge is required to interleave two PDFs here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool.
