What this A3 resize changes
Resize PDF to A3 takes one PDF and no paper control. There is no Letter radio and no A4 radio. There are no form fields. The sheet is portrait A3 from pdf-lib PageSizes.A3, 841.89 by 1190.55 points. The worker creates a new document and uses that width and height as the output media box. For each page it calls embedPage and draws that page on a new A3 sheet. pdf-lib 1.17 reads the media box with getWidth and getHeight, and getWidth does not apply Rotate, so a rotation of 90 or 270 swaps those axes before the fit. The scale is the smaller ratio of the sheet to the source, and both axes use it, so the aspect stays. The drawing is centered. A larger page scales down. A smaller page scales up. A page of 200 by 100 points becomes a sheet of 841.89 by 1190.55 points. Nothing is cropped. A page with no contents becomes a blank A3 sheet. This is not Resize PDF, which fits Letter or A4. This is not Resize PDF to Legal. The download is one PDF named a3.pdf, not a zip.
The fit runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The file is not uploaded. Open the network panel, drop a PDF, and that file should not appear as an upload. Closing the tab drops the copy. There is no email field on this page. The browser downloads a3.pdf. US Legal stays on Resize PDF to Legal. Letter and A4 stay on Resize PDF. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
There is no page cap on this tool. The tab has to hold the file. There is no account on this page. This page does not need a pass. The day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. The year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to fit a page on A3 here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.
An empty file, and a file that cannot be opened, fails with "This PDF could not be read." A PDF with no pages fails with "This PDF has no pages." A locked PDF stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined", because the worker cannot read the encrypted page. Unlock PDF is the separate page. This page does not guess a password.
Steps
- Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
- Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
- Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.
Questions
Does this crop or stretch the page?
No. Each page is scaled to fit inside portrait A3 and centered. The sheet is PageSizes.A3, 841.89 by 1190.55 points. The aspect stays. A page of 200 by 100 points keeps its ratio and leaves blank paper above and below. A small page scales up. A large page scales down. The worker does not crop. Resize PDF is the page for Letter or A4.
Does this upload the PDF?
No. It runs in this tab. The file is not uploaded. Open the network panel, drop the file, and the PDF should not appear as an upload. Closing the tab drops the copy. You get one file named a3.pdf. The Word page uploads.
Do the words stay selectable?
Yes, when the source had standard-font text. embedPage keeps that text, so the words stay selectable. A page that says Hello still yields Hello after the fit. The tool does not turn the page into a picture.
Does this page need a pass?
No. This page does not need a pass. There is no account and no page cap on this local tool. The day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. The year is $60 for 365 days. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. A pass does not change the PageSizes.A3 sheet of 841.89 by 1190.55 points.
