What keeping one page changes
Keep one PDF page takes one PDF and a page field. The field name is page and it starts at 1. The download is one file named one-page.pdf. The worker loads the file with pdf-lib, ignoreEncryption true and updateMetadata false, then removes every page except the numbered page you named. Page 2 of a file that says ONE, then TWO, then THREE becomes one page that still says TWO. A page that is 220 by 110 points stays 220 by 110 points. The content stream of that kept page is not rewritten. Nothing is rasterized, so the words stay selectable. A link on the kept page stays. A rotation flag on the kept page stays. The document title stays Keep Title. A one-page file kept at page 1 is that same page, not an error. This is not Delete PDF page, which removes the named page and keeps the rest. This is not Drop last PDF page, which has no page field and always removes the last page. This is not Keep PDF range, which keeps an inclusive span.
The keep runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The file is not uploaded. There is no GridFS copy. Open the network panel, drop a PDF, and that file should not appear as an upload. Closing the tab drops the copy. The browser downloads one-page.pdf. Delete PDF page removes one page. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
There is no page cap on this keep. The tab has to hold the file. There is no account on this page. This page does not need a pass. A day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. A year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to keep one page here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.
An empty or unreadable file stops with "This PDF could not be read." A file with no pages stops with "This PDF has no pages." A page that is not a whole number of at least 1, or is past the last page, stops with "Name a page that exists." A one-page file kept at page 1 does not stop. A locked file stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined". This page does not ask for a password and does not guess one.
Steps
- Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
- Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
- Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.
