What this turn changes
Orient PDF takes one PDF and a choice of portrait or landscape. The download is portrait.pdf when the choice is portrait, and landscape.pdf when the choice is landscape. The result is one PDF. The worker loads the file with pdf-lib and sets the rotation flag on a page that displays the wrong way. It does not rebuild the page and it does not change the media box. A page that is 200 by 100 points stays 200 by 100 points. Displayed orientation uses that box plus the rotation already stored on the page. A rotation of 90 or 270 swaps the displayed width and height. A wide page whose rotation is 0 gets a quarter turn when the choice is portrait. A tall page stays when the choice is portrait. A page that already displays as portrait, because its box is wide and its rotation is 90, stays at 90. The landscape choice turns only pages that display taller than they are wide. A square page stays for both choices. Text that says ONE stays on the wide page. Text that says TWO stays on the tall page. The document title stays Keep Title. A link whose URI is https://example.com/keep-link stays with that page. Another page whose rotation is 180 keeps that half turn, because the worker adds 90 degrees to the existing angle and does not reset the flag to 0. This is not Organize PDF, which asks you to rotate by hand. This is not Resize PDF, which fits the drawing onto Letter or A4. This is not Scale PDF, which multiplies the page box. This is not Booklet PDF, which rearranges pages for a fold. Nothing is rasterized, so the words stay selectable.
The turn runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The file is not uploaded. There is no GridFS copy. The browser downloads portrait.pdf or landscape.pdf. Organize PDF rotates one chosen page. Resize PDF fits Letter or A4. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
There is no page cap on this turn. The tab has to hold the file. This turn does not need a pass. A day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. A year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to turn pages upright here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.
An empty file stops with "This PDF could not be read." A file with no pages stops with "This PDF has no pages." A choice that is neither portrait nor landscape stops with "Choose portrait or landscape." A locked file, opened without its password, stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined". Unlock PDF is the separate page. This page does not ask for a password and does not guess one.
Steps
- Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
- Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
- Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.
