PDF to JPG

Each page becomes a picture in this tab, and the text in that picture is not selectable. Several pages download as a zip. This tab stops at 30 pages. The file is not uploaded.

How a PDF page becomes a JPEG

PDF to JPG draws each page as a JPEG. One page downloads as page-1.jpg. Two or more pages download as pages.zip, with page-1.jpg, page-2.jpg, and so on, in the order the pages already have. The picture is drawn at twice the page size, then the long side is kept at or under 2400 pixels. The page is painted on white, so a transparent area becomes white. The JPEG is encoded at quality 0.92. Words that were selectable in the PDF are not selectable in the JPEG, because the page is now a picture. The tool does not read the letters. It does not sort pages. It does not add a watermark, a logo, or a trial line.

The work runs in this browser tab. Open the network panel, choose the PDF, and it should not appear as an upload. The pictures are built here and offered as a download. Closing the tab drops the copies. There is no copy on a server, because the file never left this computer. The form does not ask for a checkout email. The original file on your computer is not rewritten.

This local tool has no account and no daily cap. This tab rasterizes up to 30 pages. A longer file stops, and the page tells you to split first. A day pass is $6 and does not renew. A year is $60. Neither charge is required to make the pictures here. The free server file is PDF to Word. That offer is one file, up to 20 pages, and that page uploads. PDF to JPG is not that offer.

Choose one PDF. A file that cannot be read stops, and the page shows the failure. A file with no pages stops. A locked PDF stops too. PDF to JPG does not know a password and will not guess one. Open Unlock PDF first, in this tab, and type the password you already know. Unlock PDF will not crack a password you do not have. A file longer than 30 pages stops before any picture is saved. Split PDF stays in this tab and can cut the file into a shorter part. Reading the letters in a picture is OCR. OCR uploads and needs a $6 day pass or the $60 year.

Steps

  1. Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
  2. Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
  3. Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.

Questions

What do I get for one page, or for many?

One page is a single JPEG named page-1.jpg. More than one page is a zip named pages.zip. Inside it, the first page is page-1.jpg and the next is page-2.jpg. The order is the order in the PDF. The long side of each picture stays at or under 2400 pixels.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. PDF to JPG stays in this tab. Open the network panel, choose the file, and it should not appear as an upload. Closing the tab drops the copies. PDF to Word is the page that uploads a file, up to 20 pages.

Can I select the words in the JPEG?

No. Each page is a picture. Selectable text in the PDF does not stay selectable here. OCR is the server page that reads pictures of text, and OCR uploads the file. OCR needs a $6 day pass or the $60 year. PDF to PNG is the sibling that makes a PNG instead of a JPEG, and it stays in this tab too.

Do I need an account for these pictures?

No. This local tool has no account. A day pass is $6 and does not renew. A year is $60. Neither charge is required to make the pictures here. You need one of those only for a server job such as OCR, heavy compress, or a PDF to Word after the free file.
