How to add a signature line to a PDF
Add a signature line draws a blank line and the word "Sign" on the last page of your PDF. There is nothing to type. Earlier pages are left alone, and the page count stays the same, so a two-page file stays two pages. The line is black, one point thick, and about two and a half inches long. It starts at the left edge of the page. It sits one inch above the bottom, or closer to the bottom on a very short page. The word "Sign" sits just above the left end in 12-point text. This is only a drawn line for signing by hand after you print. It is not a legally binding digital signature, and it is not a form field you can click. The text on your page stays. You get one file named sign-line.pdf, and your original is not changed. If you want more on the page first, try Page X of Y or Add a watermark to PDF.
Your PDF stays on your device. It's never uploaded, and you don't need to share an email address. Your browser makes the new file and saves it as sign-line.pdf. When you close the page, nothing is left behind.
Adding a signature line is free. There's no account, no page limit, and no watermark. Very large files depend on your device's memory, so a huge PDF may not open. The line goes on the last page only, and you can't move it.
If your PDF won't open, it may be damaged or may not be a real PDF. Try another copy. If it has no pages, there is nothing to draw on, so try a different file. Password-protected? It won't open here. Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then try again. If the line looks too close to the edge of your page, check it in a PDF viewer before you print.

Common questions
Where does the signature line go?
On the last page only, one inch above the bottom edge, starting at the left edge of the page. The word "Sign" sits just above its left end. Earlier pages stay clean. On a very short page, the line sits closer to the bottom.
Is my PDF uploaded when I add a signature line?
No. Your file stays on your device. It's never uploaded. That matters for contracts and other private papers. You get sign-line.pdf as a download, and your original file is not changed.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
No. It draws a plain black line and the word "Sign". You sign by hand after printing. The tool does not collect or check a signature, and it is not a form field.
Is it free to add a signature line to a PDF?
Yes, it's free. No account, no daily limit, no watermark. Very large files depend on your device's memory.
