How to change the author of a PDF
The author is the name many PDF readers show in Document Properties. This tool changes it to the name you type. Spaces at the start and end are trimmed, and the name can be up to 200 characters. The title, subject, keywords and dates stay as they were. So do the pages, text and links. Text stays selectable, and nothing is turned into a picture. You download authored.pdf, and your original file is not changed. Some PDFs keep a second copy of the author in extra hidden data. This tool does not change that copy. Use it to fix a wrong name, or to put your own name on a file someone else made.
Your file stays on your device. It's never uploaded, and we never see it. The name you type is not sent anywhere either. Nothing is sent to us, so it is fine for private or work files. Your browser saves the result as authored.pdf. Close the page and that copy is gone.
