What the crop box becomes
Remove crop box takes one PDF and sets every page crop box equal to that page's media box. There is no page field and no trim field. The download is one file named full-page.pdf. The worker loads the file with pdf-lib. It reads the media box on each page and writes those same four numbers into the crop box. It does not redraw the content stream. It does not scale the page. It does not move the drawing. A page whose media box measures 200 by 100 points may already carry a smaller crop box, for example x 20, y 10, width 80, and height 40. After this tool the crop box is x 0, y 0, width 200, and height 100, matching the media box. Text drawn at x 30 that says KEEP stays at x 30. Marks outside the old crop box become visible again, because the crop box now covers the whole media box. A link stays on its page. A rotation of 90 degrees stays. The document title Keep Title stays. The author Keep Author stays. A second page of 300 by 150 points, cropped from x 40 and y 20, gets a crop box of width 300 and height 150. A page of 400 by 200 points rotated 90 degrees keeps that rotation. This is not Crop PDF, which sets a smaller crop box and leaves hidden marks in the file. This is not Resize PDF, which scales a page onto Letter or A4. This is not Scale PDF, which multiplies the page box and the drawing. This is not Split horizontal PDF, which cuts a page into split-horizontal.pdf. The original file on disk is not rewritten.
The change runs in this tab with the open-source workers. The file is not uploaded. There is no GridFS copy. Closing the tab drops the copy. The browser downloads full-page.pdf. Crop PDF writes a smaller crop box. Resize PDF fits a sheet. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
There is no page cap on this change. The tab has to hold the file. This page does not need a pass. A day pass is $6, charged once, for 24 hours, and it does not renew. A year is $60 for 365 days. Neither charge is required to match the crop box to the media box here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool. That cap belongs to PDF to Word, OCR, and heavy compress.
An empty file stops with "This PDF could not be read." Bytes that are not a PDF stop with "This PDF could not be read." A file with no pages stops with "This PDF has no pages." A locked file, opened without its password, stops with "Expected instance of PDFDict, but got instance of undefined". Unlock PDF is the separate page. This page does not ask for a password and does not guess one.
Steps
- Drop the file. It stays in this tab.
- Set the one option on the page, if it has one.
- Download the result. Closing the tab drops the copy.
Questions
What does the crop box become?
Each crop box becomes that page's media box in full-page.pdf. A media box of 200 by 100 points stays 200 by 100 points, and the crop box matches it. The content stream is not redrawn.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. The change runs in this tab. The file is not uploaded. Closing the tab drops the copy. You get one file named full-page.pdf. The Word page at /pdf-to-word uploads.
Does the page move or scale?
No. The media box stays. Text that says KEEP stays where it was drawn. A rotation of 90 degrees stays. The title Keep Title stays. Only the crop box changes, and it matches the media box.
Does this page need the $6 day pass?
No. A $6 day pass lasts 24 hours, is charged once, and does not renew. A $60 year lasts 365 days. Neither charge is required to match the crop box to the media box here. The 20-page server cap is not this tool.
