How to count the pages in a PDF
This tool tells you how many pages are in your PDF. You download count.txt, which holds one number and nothing else. Three pages gives you 3. Ten pages gives you 10. There is no label and no extra text. A page turned sideways still counts as one page. The tool does not read the words on the pages, and it does not change your file. Use it to check a page limit before you upload a file to a form or a portal, or to confirm that a long report is the length you expect. Open the text file in any editor, such as Notepad or TextEdit. It works the same for a one-page letter and a long report.
Your file stays on your device. It is never uploaded, and nothing is kept after you close the page. You only get the text file. That makes it safe for contracts, bank statements, medical records and other private files.
Counting pages is free, with no account and no page limit. The only limit is your device's memory, so a very large file may not fit. There is nothing to install.
If the file is empty, damaged or not a PDF, try another copy. A PDF with no pages cannot be counted. Password-protected? Unlock it first with Unlock PDF. Need the size of each page too? Use Check PDF page size. To pull out the words, use PDF to text. To change the title saved in the file, use Change PDF title. Still stuck? Open the file in your PDF viewer first. If it opens there, try again. If it does not open, the file is damaged. If you need the count for just part of a file, split it first with Split PDF, then count each part.
