How to crop a PDF

Crop PDF trims the same amount from all four edges of every page. Type a number in the box labelled Trim from each edge, in points. 72 points trim one inch from each edge, and 36 points trim half an inch. The box starts at 0. The visible part of each page gets smaller, and the page is not redrawn. If the pages were already cropped, the trim starts from that smaller area. You download one PDF named cropped.pdf. A trim of 0 changes nothing, but you still get a PDF. Cropping only hides the trimmed parts. They are still in the file.

Your file stays on your device. It is never uploaded, and the page never asks for your email. When the work is done, your browser saves cropped.pdf. When you close the page, the copy in your browser is cleared. That makes it safe for contracts, bank statements, medical records and other private files.

Crop PDF is free, with no account, no daily limit and no page limit. The only limit is your device's memory, so a very large file may not fit.

The trim must be a whole number, 0 or more. A decimal or a negative number is refused, so type a whole number like 18 or 36. If the trim would leave any page one point wide or tall, or less, nothing is changed. Try a smaller number. If the file is empty, damaged or not a PDF, try another copy. Password-protected? Common questions

How much does the trim cut off a PDF page?

The same number of points from all four edges of every page. 72 points is one inch, and 36 points is half an inch. The box starts at 0, which changes nothing but still gives you cropped.pdf. Content outside the new edges is hidden, not deleted.

Is my PDF uploaded when I crop it?

No. Your file stays on your device and is never uploaded. Your download is cropped.pdf.

Does cropping a PDF remove the hidden content?

No. Cropping is not redaction, which means safely deleting private content. The trimmed parts are still inside the file. A PDF viewer hides them, but someone with the right tools can still find them. If you need to remove private information, cropping is not enough.

Is Crop PDF free?

Yes, it's free. No account, no daily limit, no watermark.
