How to change the title of a PDF
The title is the name many PDF readers show at the top of the window or tab, instead of the file name. This tool changes that saved title to the text you type. Spaces at the start and end are trimmed, and the title can be up to 200 characters. The author, subject, keywords and dates stay as they were. So do the pages, text and links. You download titled.pdf. The title is not the file name, so to rename the file, rename titled.pdf on your computer. Some PDFs keep a second copy of the title in extra hidden data. This tool does not change that copy. Your original file is not changed. A good title helps when people open the file, and it helps search tools and screen readers name the document.
