How to remove links from a PDF
A link in a PDF is a clickable area on the page. Click it, and it opens a web page or jumps to another page. This tool deletes those clickable areas on every page. There is nothing to choose. Add your file and download the result, named without-links.pdf. It is still one PDF. Only links are removed. Sticky notes and comments stay. Form fields stay, and any answers typed in them stay. The words on the page also stay. If a page shows a web address as printed words, those words stay visible. They just stop being clickable. This is not redaction, and it does not hide any words. The title, sideways pages and page count stay the same. Your original file is not changed. To remove comments and notes as well as links, use Remove comments and highlights from PDF.
Your file stays on your device. It is never uploaded, so you can strip links from private reports and brochures. You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, go to the network panel and add a file. No upload appears. There is no sign-up and no watermark, and when you close the page the copy in your browser is gone.
There is no page limit and no daily limit. A long PDF works as long as your device has enough memory to open it. Very large files, such as scans with hundreds of pages, can be slow on a phone or an older laptop. To lock form fields into the page, use Flatten PDF.
If the page says your PDF could not be read, the file may be damaged or may not be a PDF, so try another copy. A PDF with no pages cannot be changed. A password-protected PDF will not work here, so remove the password with Unlock PDF first and try again. This tool never asks for a password and never tries to guess one.
How to use this tool
