How to make a booklet from a PDF

This tool arranges your pages so you can print them, fold the paper in half and read it like a small book. You pick Letter or A4 paper, and Letter is the default. Each sheet is sideways, with two pages on it and a half-inch margin and gap. A booklet needs a page count that divides evenly by 4. If yours does not, blank spots are added at the end. The page order is changed for folding. In a four-page file, the first sheet shows page 4 on the left and page 1 on the right. The second sheet shows page 2 on the left and page 3 on the right. Print both sides, fold in the middle, and the pages read 1, 2, 3, 4. You get one PDF named booklet.pdf.

Your file stays on your device. It is never uploaded, and your original file is not changed. When you close the page, the copy in your browser is cleared. There is no watermark. That makes it safe for contracts, bank statements, medical records and other private files.

PDF booklet is free, with no account, no daily limit and no page limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Pick Letter or A4 before you start. If the file is empty, damaged or not a PDF, try another copy. A PDF with no pages cannot be used. Password-protected? Unlock it first with Unlock PDF. Want pages in normal reading order instead? Use Put two PDF pages on one page. Want four to a sheet? Use Put four PDF pages on one page.

Common questions

Will a PDF booklet crop or stretch my pages?

No. Each page is scaled to fit one half of a landscape Letter or A4 sheet and centered there. It keeps its shape. Pictures are not made blurry. The pages are in folding order, not reading order.

Is my PDF uploaded when I make a booklet?

No. Your file stays on your device and is never uploaded. You get a new file named booklet.pdf, and your original file is not changed.

Can I still select the text?

Yes, if you could select it before. Each page is placed on the sheet as page content, not as a picture, so words stay words. Notes, links and form fields are not copied onto the new sheet.

Is PDF booklet free?

Yes, it's free. No account, no daily limit, no watermark.
