How to change the producer of a PDF
The producer is the name of the software that saved your PDF. Many PDF readers show it in Document Properties as the PDF producer. This tool changes it to the name you type, such as your company or tool name. Spaces at the start and end are trimmed, and the name can be up to 200 characters. The title, author, subject, keywords, creator and dates stay as they were. So do the pages, text and links. You download producer.pdf, and your original file is not changed. Some PDFs keep a second copy of these details in extra hidden data. This tool does not change that copy. Use it to fix a wrong software name, or to show your own company name in the file properties.
Your file stays on your device. It's never uploaded, and we never see it. The name you type is not sent anywhere either. Nothing is sent to us, so it is fine for private or work files. Your browser saves the result as producer.pdf. Close the page and that copy is gone.
There is no page limit. It works the same on a one-page file and a long report. Very large files depend on your device's memory. You don't need an account, and there is no daily limit and no watermark. Do as many files as you like, one after another.
Leave the box empty and you'll be asked to type a producer. A name over 200 characters needs to be shortened. Password-protected? Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then try again. If the file won't open, it may be damaged or may not be a PDF. Try another copy. Large files can take a few seconds to open. Still stuck? Open the saved file in another PDF reader to check it.
