How to make every page in a PDF portrait or landscape

Choose Portrait (taller than wide) or Landscape (wider than tall) in the Turn pages to box. The tool looks at how each page is shown now and turns only the pages that face the other way, a quarter turn at a time. Pages that already match are left alone, and square pages stay as they are. It is the fix for a mixed scan where some pages sit sideways. Pages are turned, not redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable. The new file downloads as portrait.pdf or landscape.pdf, depending on your choice. Mixed files are the main use, such as a report with a few wide charts, where you want every page to read the same way.

Your PDF stays on your device the whole time. There is no upload, no copy on our servers, and no account. Open your browser's network panel if you want to see for yourself. Turning pages happens on your own computer or phone, and the finished file is saved as portrait.pdf or landscape.pdf. Closing the tab clears it.

This tool is free. There is no account, no daily limit, and no watermark on the file you download. There is no page limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory, so a big scan may be slow on a phone.

If a page turned the wrong direction, try the other choice, or turn single pages by hand with Organize PDF. If your PDF will not open, it may be password-protected. Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then try again. To turn every page the same amount, use Rotate PDF 90 degrees or Rotate PDF 180 degrees.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose your file. It never leaves your device.
  2. Pick a setting, if the page has one.
  3. Download your new file.

Common questions

Which pages get turned?

With Portrait, only pages that show wider than they are tall are turned. With Landscape, only pages that show taller than they are wide are turned. Pages that already match, and square pages, stay as they are.

Is my PDF uploaded when I change its orientation?

No. Your file stays on your device and is never uploaded. You get one new file named portrait.pdf or landscape.pdf, and your original is left untouched.

Will my text and links still work?

Yes. Each page keeps its size. Only the way it is turned changes. Text stays sharp and selectable, and links still work.

Is it free to make pages portrait or landscape?

Yes, it's free. No account, no daily limit, no watermark.
