How to keep only the first and last page of a PDF

Add your PDF and you keep its first page and its last page. Every page in between is removed. There is nothing to type. A three-page file becomes two pages: page 1 and page 3. A two-page file keeps both pages. A one-page file stays that one page, and we do not paste a second copy of it. The first page stays first and the last page stays last. Text stays selectable, links and sideways pages stay as they were, and the document title stays. You download one file, ends.pdf. To keep a different run of pages, use Extract pages from PDF. To remove one page you name, use Delete a page from a PDF. Use it to make a short preview of a long file, or to keep a cover page and a closing page.

Your file stays on your device. It is never uploaded. Your original is not changed, and we add no watermark. Close the tab when you finish and nothing stays behind.

Free, with no account, no daily limit and no page limit. Your device needs enough memory to hold the file. You can use it on as many files as you like.

If your file cannot be read, it may be damaged or not a PDF, so try another copy. A PDF with no pages gives nothing to keep. Password-protected? Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, using the password you already know. If the result is not what you expected, check its page count in your viewer, then try again with your original file, which is never changed.

Common questions

Which pages does it keep?

The first page and the last page, in that order. A three-page file keeps page 1 and page 3. A two-page file keeps both pages. Every page in the middle is removed.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Your file stays on your device. You get one PDF named ends.pdf. Your original is not changed, and we add no watermark.

What happens if my PDF has only one page?

The first page and the last page are the same page, so the file stays one page. We do not duplicate it. The download is still ends.pdf. Duplicating a page is a different task.

Is it free to keep the first and last page of a PDF?

Yes. No account, no daily limit, no watermark. You can use it on as many files as you like.
